Extra Mile Award

February 3, 2009

In honor of those individuals who give their heart and soul to the profession and positively impact our communities across the nation, we have created the Beth Mortimer “Extra Mile” Award. This award will be bestowed to one person each year that best embodies the attributes exhibited by the late Elizabeth Claire Mortimer throughout her career in disaster services.

The recipient of the 2008 Beth Mortimer "Extra Mile" Award is Mark Parr.

As a PB Inspector, Mark has dedicated many countless hours to the task of assisting disaster victims. For his outstanding customer service, amazing work ethic, and willingness to go the "Extra Mile"... Mark is honored with this award.

"What an honor this is to me. I have enjoyed so many places, people and experiences over the years performing a job I have loved doing . I am especially happy to receive this award named after Beth Mortimer, a friend to me, and many others . Thank you!"    -Mark Parr
